The software AV works silently work in the background and unobtrusively checks all file activity on your PC, as well as anything attempting to connect to it. They aren't designed for you to run individual exe files. Bitdefender Total Security 2014 is rated as the most effective security suite and doesn’t hold back your PC’s performance, the security program keeps it’s virus definitions up to date and prevents evolving threats. You only launch the main one, and it launches the others as needed. Their defense was you can already block apps that are currently running, so why do you need this feature? Can't you just run the app and then block it? I think they're very naive if they think it's this simple.Ī lot of apps contain several. But still nothing, so I guess they didn't see it as a priority. I looked up forum posts from YEARS ago about people complaining about the same thing, and the Rep would say, we're looking into it, we'll pass it on to the dev team. Some processes launch by themselves or get launched by other processes, and you can't preemptively block them before they run. You can select from processes that are already running, but not processes that are yet to launch. My problem with Webroot is that you can't individually select apps or folders to block from accessing the internet. ![]()
